Because the applications of high power LED have been widely carried out, the material of semiconductor lighting has the outstanding advantages that it is energy-saving, green environment, high efficiency, long life (LED life) and low cost of maintenance, it has very attractive characteristics compared with the traditional lights. But in the actual application process, the properties of LED don’t appear as expected, it appears all sorts of problems. For example, high power white LED wants to abtain the long-term development and insteads of the traditional lights finally, its reliability research must be urgent.
Usually the reliability study of LED can be divided into two directions: the failure mechanism analysis based on semiconductor physics and reliability prediction based on reliability engineering.
