Chroma meter is also called portable colorimeter, color analyzer and color meter. The chroma meter is a simple color deviation testing instrument, that is, to make a filter that simulates the light splitting characteristics equivalent to the color sensitivity of the human eye, and use it to measure the light of the sample plate. The key is to design the light splitting sensitivity characteristics of this kind of photoreceptor, and to measure and display the excellent difference value through the computer software under a certain light source. It is a conventional instrument for scientific research and production, and also a high-tech product integrating colorimetry, modern optoelectronics and computer science.
Main applications of chroma meter:
1. Product quality controlled by color
In order to control the color change of products within a certain acceptable range, the production line must use a color change meter to detect the color quality to monitor the color change of products. Within the acceptable range, the production process shall be adjusted to ensure the color quality of the product.
2. Color matching paint, spraying, printing ink, etc
When receiving the standard samples from customers, the company shall assign colors according to the standard samples. In this process, the low sample shall be repeated. When there is no instrument to measure the color difference between the standard sample and the sample, the color difference between the evaluation sample and the standard sample basically depends on the human eye. Due to the subjective factors of the human eye, there are some problems, for example. Long calibration cycle, high calibration cost, low color accuracy, difficult color difference data, etc.
Croatian deviation measurement can quickly measure the color difference between the standard sample and the sample, provide accurate quantitative data, quickly and comfortably, and reduce the uncertainty of human eye observation. In the measurement data of the colorimeter, the color deviation between the sample and the standard sample can be displayed. Therefore, the color formula can be corrected according to the measurement data of the colorimeter to shorten the correction period.
3. Color transfer
The international and domestic colors are based on the ideal black and white plate, not the instrument. Therefore, when customers hear about color cards or standard samples, they can use color difference meters for color matching and color quality control, so as to accurately achieve color reproduction and ensure correct color transmission.
Precautions during use of chroma meter:
1. A customer provided the manufacturer with a set of color coordinates, but did not provide a standard sample. In this case, it must be clear in which color space the color coordinates provided by the customer are measured, as well as the lighting conditions and light source type. In different color coordinate spaces, the measured values differ greatly and have no comparability; In the same color space, with different lighting conditions, the chromaticity coordinates also differ greatly, but the color difference is relatively small. In this case, the customer should provide the standard sample, use the standard sample to communicate with the user, use the standard sample as the reference, and control the color difference;
2. The color coordinate space of the current instrument must be determined according to the user’s color coordinate space. All instruments are adjusted using the standard white board as the benchmark. When the instrument is used for a period of time, it must be recalibrated with the standard white board accompanying the instrument to achieve the highest measurement accuracy;
3. The two measurement results differ greatly
A. Dirt entering the measuring port will cause inaccurate measurement, which will seriously affect the measurement results;
B. Check whether the battery consumption is too low (below 20%), then replace it with a new dry battery or use a DC power supply.
C. Check whether the instrument and test object are stable during measurement, and whether the measuring port and measuring surface are in close contact;
D. Check whether the measuring object is too thin and light leaks
E. Check whether the measuring part is mixed
