Test standard for sand dust test chamber

The scientific name of sand dust test chamber is dustproof test chamber, which is implemented according to international national standard parameters such as GB4208-2017 Degrees of Protection Provided by Enclosures (IP Code). It tests the physical and other related properties of the product under the climate conditions simulating natural dust. After the test, the performance of the product is judged to meet the requirements by verification, so as to facilitate the design, improvement, verification and delivery inspection of the product.

The main function of the sand dust test chamber is to apply to electronic and electrical products, lamps, electrical cabinets, electrical components, automobiles, motorcycles and their parts, and to test whether electronic and electrical products, shells and seals can guarantee the good performance of equipment and components in a dusty environment.

There are 1-6 types of sand dust test chamber. The common test is the IP56X sand and dust test grade, which is also applicable to the tests of IP5X and IP6X specified in the enclosure protection grade standard. What is the dustproof grade of sand dust test chamber?
1. IP1X – Prevent human body (such as palm) from accidentally contacting the internal parts of electrical appliances, and prevent the entry of foreign objects with larger size (diameter greater than 5mm).
2. IP2X – Prevent people’s fingers from touching the parts inside the appliance, and prevent the invasion of foreign objects of medium size (diameter greater than 12.5mm).
3. IP3X – Prevent tools, wires and similar small foreign objects with diameter or thickness greater than 2.5mm from invading and contacting parts inside the appliance.
4. IP4X – Prevent tools, wires and similar small foreign objects with diameter or thickness greater than 1CM from invading and contacting the parts inside the appliance
5. IP5X can partially prevent dust intrusion (no harmful sediment will be generated). Although it cannot completely prevent dust intrusion, the amount of dust intrusion will not affect the normal operation of electrical appliances.
