The scientific name of the sand dust chamber is dust resistance tester, dustproof test chamber and other different names. It is an instrument used for IP dustproof test of products. The dustproof test box equipment is helpful to evaluate the ability of the equipment to resist the impact of dust that may block the opening, penetrate into cracks, gaps, bearings and joints. Its application scope includes but is not limited to electrical appliances, lighting fixtures, instruments, intelligent robots, camera equipment, vacuum cleaners, sweepers and other products.

The sand dust chamber is strict with the medium used, the dust is dry talcum powder, and the talcum powder should be filtered by a metal square hole sieve. The wire diameter is 50um, and the mesh size is 75um. The amount of talcum powder is 2kg/m3. The criterion is that the dust cannot be completely prevented from entering, but the amount of dust entering shall not affect the normal operation of the equipment.

The sand dust chamber has two test methods:
1. When the air pressure in the box is lower than the ambient atmospheric pressure, it is caused by the thermal circulation effect. The vacuum pump is used to keep the air pressure lower than the atmospheric pressure, and the air extraction air should be connected to the hole specially set for the test.
2. When the air pressure in the enclosure is the same as the ambient air pressure, the tested enclosure shall be put into the test chamber according to the normal working position, but not connected with the vacuum pump. The drain hole opened under normal conditions shall be kept open during the test, and the test duration shall be 8h.
