Introduction to IPX6 waterproof test equipment

What is the concept of IPX6 waterproof  test equipment?
Put five barrels of water in barrels, insert all the jet knives into the socket surface of the electrical appliance within one minute, and after spraying for 3 minutes, the power supply of the socket is normal, and there is no water drop inside after disassembly. The waterproof grade is water resistant, that is, it will not enter the interior even if it is directly sprayed by water in any direction.

Environmental test equipment: including dust-proof and   IPXX waterproof test equipment, salt spray test machine , high and low temperature damp heat test chamber, aging rack, UV aging test chamber, etc.

Level of waterproof protection function
The IP protection rating system is drafted by IEC, which classifies the electrical appliances according to their characteristics of dust and moisture prevention. IP protection level is composed of two numbers. The first number represents the level of electrical appliance dust prevention and foreign object intrusion prevention (foreign objects, including tools and human fingers, are not allowed to touch the live parts in electrical appliances to avoid electric shock. The second number represents the sealing degree of electrical appliances against moisture and water intrusion. The larger the number, the higher the protection level.

Waterproof grade of the second digit after IP:
0. means no special protection against water or moisture;
1. means to prevent water droplets from being immersed, and vertically falling water droplets (such as condensate) will not damage the electrical appliances;
2. indicates that water droplets can still be prevented from being immersed when the slope is 15 degrees. When the electrical appliance is tilted to 15 degrees from the vertical, water dripping will not damage the electrical appliance;
3. means to prevent the sprayed water from immersing into the rain proof or preventing the water sprayed in the direction with the vertical angle less than 60 degrees from invading the electrical appliance and causing damage;
4. means to prevent splashing water from immersing in the appliance and prevent splashing water from all directions from invading the appliance and causing damage;
5. means to prevent the injected water from being immersed, and to prevent the low-pressure water spraying that lasts for at least 3 minutes;
6. means to prevent large waves from immersing and prevent a large amount of water spraying lasting for at least 3 minutes;
7. means to prevent water from being immersed in water up to 1m deep for 30 minutes;
8. means to prevent water from being immersed in the water with a depth of more than 1 m during sinking, and to prevent continuous immersion. The exact conditions are specified by the manufacturer for each equipment.

IPX6 waterproof test method:
1. Method name: strong water spray test;
2. Test equipment: the inner diameter of the spray nozzle is 12.5 mm;
3. Test conditions: make the distance between the test sample and the spray nozzle 2.5m~3m, and the water flow rate 100L/min (5000L/h);
4. Test time: calculated according to the surface area of the tested sample shell, 1 min per square meter (excluding the installation area), at least 3 min.

LISUN lauched JL-X waterproof test machine is according to IEC60529:1989 +A1:1999 +A2：2013 《Degrees of protection provided by enclosures(IP Code)》, IEC60598, IEC60335 and IEC 60034-5, GB/T-2423.2, GB4208, GB7000.1. The JL-X includes the following test grades: IPX1, IPX2, IPX3, IPX4, IPX5, IPX6, IPX7 and IPX8 (Refer to page 51 of IEC60529). It is widely used in the authentication test organization for the products such as electrical & electronic products, LED luminaires as well as in the relevant quality control department for the waterproof detection of the enclosures protection grades.

The whole JL-X waterproof test system includes:
• Drip Box (JL-12): The drip box is for IPX1 and IPX2 drip test. The drip box size is 800x800x75mm (LxWxH). The diameter of drip hole is 0.4mm. The distance between drip holes is 20mm. The sample can be over 150kg.
• Swing Pipe Water Spray Test Equipment (JL-34): It is for IPX3 and IPX4 waterproof test. The semi-diameter of swing pipe is 1meter (Any other size is also available). The inside diameter of the swing pipe is 15mm. The sample rotating table diameter is 1000mm (Or other size according to the diameter of the swing pipe), and the height is adjustable. The rotation speed is 1~5rpm which controlled by PLC panel.
• Waterproof Jet Test Device (JL-56): With water supply device size is 1000x1000x600mm, the nozzle diameter is ф6.3mm (IPX5 waterproof test ) and ф12.5mm (IPX6 waterproof test). The water speed is 12.5 ±0.626L/min for IPX55 and 100 ±5L/min for IPX6
• Immersion tank Waterproof test Device (JL-7): It is for IPX7 waterproof test. The water tank size is 1000x1000x1200mm (Other size can be designed according to your request). It can test samples up to 120kg.
• Immersion tank Waterproof test Device (JL-8): It is for IPX8 test. It can simulate a water depth of 0~50m. The water immersion tank diameter is 600mm and the height is 1200mm. The compressive stress is 10 atmospheres or design according to customer‘s request.
