How to test LED waterproof test equipment

What does the LED waterproof test equipment mean? In fact, the test sample is LED test sample, and an IP waterproof test is carried out on the product to see whether it meets the national standard of IP protection grade. Ip protection testing equipment is a kind of experimental equipment simulating the rain environment, to detect whether the products in life have waterproof performance and meet the ip protection level standards.

LED products can be tested for a variety of different waterproof levels. Different users have different waterproof requirements for the test samples. There are 1-9 conventional waterproof levels that are applicable to LED testing. The larger the number, the better the waterproof effect and the higher the protection level. There are 9 kinds of common equipment, namely IPX1/2 drip box, IPX3/4 swing pipe water spray test equipment, IPX5/6 waterproof jet test device, IPX7/8 immersion tank waterproof test device and IPX9 high temperature and high pressure spray box. In addition, there are dynamic simulation test machine, spray customized room, ice water impact test box, ice water splash impact test box, ocean depth simulation test machine, UL rain box, American standard rain box, rain room and comprehensive multi-function rain box. LED waterproof test equipment can meet national standard parameters such as GBT 4208-2017, IEC 60529:2013, ISO 20653-2013, GB7000.1-2015, etc. Its shell is made of domestic steel plate, and its surface is sprayed with baking paint, which is beautiful and durable; The inner box and turntable are all made of SUS304 # stainless steel plate, which will not rust after long use; The box structure has its own water tank for circulating water; Automatic control of water inflow and low water level alarm detection can effectively prevent water pump from being damaged due to water shortage.

Automobile headlights generally need to reach ipx56, electric toothbrushes generally need to reach ipx7 immersion, and diving products generally need to reach ipx8 waterproof. Taking LED products for ipx56 and ipx7 protection level test as an example, its test requirements need to comply with international GB4208-2017 Degrees of Protection Provided by Enclosures (IP Code) and other parameters.

Test requirements and conditions for IP waterproof test equipment ipx56:
1. Nozzle inner diameter: 6.3mm for IPX5; IPX6 is 12.5mm
2. Water flow: IPX5 is 12.5 ± 0.625L/min; IPX6 is 100 ± 5L/min
3. Water pressure: adjust according to the specified water flow;
4. The central part of the main water flow: IPX5 is a circle with a diameter of about 40mm at 2.5m from the nozzle; IPX6 is 120mm;
5. Water spraying time per square meter of shell surface: about 1min;
6. Distance from water nozzle to shell surface: 2.5-3m;
7. Test time: at least 3min.

Test requirements for LED waterproof test equipment ipx7:
Bind the LED test sample with ropes, and then put it into the immersion tank for 30 minutes. When the time is up, take out the sample and observe and record the results.
