Standards about LED electronic components anti-static test and discharge principle used in the anti-static test

3.  Is there some standards about LED electronic components anti-static test?

LED belongs to semiconductor device, it has electrostatic discharge simulation test (Electrostatic Discharge Simulator) standard. The common and authority in the international:

International Association of “ANSI-ESDSTM5.1.2-1999” etc.

Joint Commission International Electronic Devices of “JESD22-A114/115” etc.

American Military Standard “MIL-STD-883” has a specific description of a device type electrostatic test.

4.  What is the discharge principle of Human Mode (HBM) and Mechanical Model (MM) used in the anti-static test?

Both are used to measure the measured object anti-static ability.

Human Mode: When the electrostatic is applied to the object, put out a series resistor with a 330 ohm, this is to simulate the charge transfer when human contacts with device, it is usually 330 ohms when human contacts with device, so called it Human Mode.

Mechanical Mode: Applied the electrostatic directly to the device under test, it is to simulate that the electrostatic charge tranfers directly into the device, so called the Mechanical Mode.

The internal electrostatic charge energy storage, discharge waveform of these two equipment also have some differences. The result of HBM is generally 8-10 times of MM. In LED industry, now many enterprises use the indicators of HBM.
