The Development of Multi-chip LED Lamp

In recent years, the development of multi-chip LED lamp or LED lamp with more tube combination have grown very quickly. However there is no domestic and foreign testing method (LED test) which is specific to LED lamp. As a kind of lighting application product, it has the relevant measurement standard set by International Electrotechnical Commission IEC and International Lighting Committee. The light intensity and beam Angle in the center of the LED lamp for illumination can consult IEC61341 1994 standard to carry out. For spectral radiant (color spectrometer) and color measurement (colorimeter), it can consult CIE NO. 63 document and national standard GB/T7922 2003 to carry out.

As people pay attention to the biological safety of the light, according to the requirements of International Electrotechnical Commission IEC60825 standards, LED lamp or lamp products must be conducted the radiation safety test in accordance with the similar requirements of the laser devices. The domestic enterprises have not paid enough attention to this. With more domestic LED products entering the international market, such as the United States and the European Union, there will involve more complicated radiation safety test problem (Electrical Safety). For the present, the IEC standards might be too harsh to the rapid development of wide beam LED products. For general lighting lamp and light system, and considering the likely damage to human body skin and eye health, the International Electrotechnical Commission in 2002 adopted the International Lighting Commission’s file CIE S009 / E2002 “Light Biological Safety of Lights and Light System” as the IEC formal standards. In order to cope with the international change, China in 2004 also formulated relevant standards.
