LED manufacturers must learn some basic luminaries’ parameters such as brightness, spectrum and color temperature and so on as standard to identify pros and cons. We will introduce following LED lighting products normal parameters and tell you how to design and improve LED lighting products.
Brightness/luminance L: Luminance is the luminous flux per Unit solid angle per unit area of light travelling in a given direction. Unit: cd/㎡.
Fluxφ: Light Source emitting the amount of flux in unit time is called the light flux of light source. Unit: Lm. Show that light source emits the amount of light.
3. Luminous intensity
Luminous intensity is a measure of the wavelength-weighted power emitted by a light source in a particular direction per unit solid angle. Unit: candela.
Illuminance is the total luminous flux incident on a surface, per unit area. Unit: lux.
The spectrum of LED is same, the color is same. Without spectrometer, LED manufacturers can not manufacture pure color products. Visible spectrum range: 380~780nm.
6. Color Temperature
Color temperature is the general indicator to represent the light source spectrum quality. It is usually represented by Tc. The color temperature of a light source is the temperature of an ideal black-body radiator that radiates light of comparable hue to that of the light source. Color temperature is a unit to mark the light color. Color temperature is conventionally stated in the unit of absolute temperature, the Kelvin, having the unit symbol K. Yellow light is “Below 3300K”, white light is “over 5300K”and middle light is “3300K-5300K”.
7. Leakage current
LED is unidirectional conductive light, if it has reverse current, it is called leakage current. The leakage current of LED is large, life is short.
8. Antistatic ability
Strong antistatic ability LED, the life is long, so price will be high. Generally, LED antistatic ability over 700V can be used for LED lighting.
The key of different quality is life; life is determined by light decay. Light decay is little, life is long.
